About Michelle
Hi, I’m Michelle Hutchinson.
Licensed Clinical Social Worker, PMH-C Certified Perinatal Mental Health Therapist, and founder of MamaPathways
My Story
I’m a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and a PMH-C Certified Perinatal Mental Health Therapist—and a mom to two young girls.
I earned my Master’s in Social Work from Cal State San Marcos in 2016, where my early work focused on supporting foster youth, transitional-aged young adults, and young mothers. I worked closely with both children and their families, helping them navigate complex life experiences and build stronger, more connected relationships.
After becoming a mom myself, my perspective shifted in a meaningful way. During my own postpartum journey, I became more aware of the emotional challenges that can come with motherhood—especially in those early stages.
As I transitioned into providing telehealth therapy, I began working with more new and expecting mothers, and I quickly realized how deeply I connected with this work. Supporting women during pregnancy and postpartum became something I felt truly passionate about.
This led me to pursue advanced training in perinatal mental health through Postpartum Support International, where I later obtained my PMH-C certification. I also have specialized training in trauma-informed care and continue to expand my knowledge to best support the clients I work with.
MamaPathways was created from both my professional and personal experiences. I saw firsthand—both in my work and in my own life—how much support women need during this time, and how often they are left feeling overwhelmed or alone.
My goal is to support mothers through every stage of their journey, whether they are navigating pregnancy-related loss, infertility, postpartum depression or anxiety, or the many emotional transitions that come with becoming a parent.
I specialize in postpartum mental health, trauma and PTSD, anxiety, depression, and domestic violence. My approach is trauma-informed and person-centered, meaning I prioritize creating a safe, supportive space where you feel heard, understood, and empowered in your healing process.
Today, I offer virtual therapy to women across California, helping them feel less alone and more supported as they navigate this chapter of their lives.
